A few words about the history of Parliament cigarettes
This world famous luxury cigarettes are made by Philip Morris brand, which was founded in 1847 by Philip Morris, the seller of cigars in a small London shop on Bond Street. It was the first store that start selling cigars in London, but already in 1854, Philip Morris released first cigarette, which immediately acquired great popularity and success of London citizens.
The history of the creation of a new brand «Parliament» by Philip Morris begin in 1931. Parliament cigarettes were the first cigarettes with filters mouthpieces.
This filter mouthpiece served to cooling smoke during smoking. The tip was made of cotton fabric, that wouldn’t allowed the direct inhalation of smoke.
For the first time outside of the U.S. Parliament cigarettes were imported in 1970.
In different countries, «Parliament» cigarettes are perceived differently, and smokers of these cigarettes constitute the different society sectors. In UK «Parliament» losing ground to such brands as «Marlboro» and «Camel». The second is the «Parliament Extra Lights» (Silver Blue), which contains in one cigarette: 3 mg / tar, 0.3 mg / nicotine. Parliament brand produce Menthol cigarettes too.
The company Philip Morris at different times, produced a special series of Parliament cigarettes, limited party. To adult smokers were offered Parliament cigarettes with the image on the package of George W. Bush and Marilyn Monroe.
